The KonMari Method

The KonMari Method was created by Marie Kondo, the Japanese organizing guru and author of the New York Times best-selling book The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up. Based on The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing, KonMari is a step-by-step process for tidying, organizing, and curating our homes. With an emphasis on mindfulness, it is centered around the idea that we can create a more peaceful life through “the magic of tidying up”. With KonMari we do three things:

Physical clutter distracts the mind and costs valuable time and energy. Whether your home is large or small, too much stuff takes time and attention away from what is truly important. A guiding principle of KonMari is to surround ourselves with only those things that spark joy, while letting go of what does not. When we free up space, we free up our mind and unlock stagnant energy.

Ordered living has a genuinely positive effect on our lives. With KonMari we find a permanent home for every belonging, using creative solutions for folding and storage. Items with a home are now easily accessible and hard to mess up. When the process is completed fully, we need never do it again. KonMari is a once-and-for-all solution.

Spark Joy

When you have a space that you love, you can be your best self in it. KonMari restores balance between you, your home, and your belongings, shifting time and energy towards what you really desire. The magic spreads beyond the home and changes our lives in unexpected ways.

Look forward to a creating a home and a life that sparks joy!

“The question of what you want to own is actually the question of how you want to live your life.”
